Installation:

1. UnZIP the 'Titanic - Honor and Glory Demo 3' folder to the directory of choice.
2. Navigate to Titanic - Honor and Glory Demo 3/Engine/Extras/redist/en-us and double click 'UE4PrereqSetup_x86'. Install UE4 PreReqs.
There may be prompts to install this when running the demo for the first time. This ensures that the PC will have the proper files needed to run Unreal Engine 4, the engine the demo runs on.
3. In the main 'Titanic - Honor and Glory Demo 3' folder, double click the 'THG_Demo_3' icon to start the demo. Create shortcuts to that executable if desired.
4. On the main menu, read the agreement and click either agree or cancel. If you agree, you can then click 'Start Demo' to load the game.

Demo Controls:

For Demo 3 Stand-alone:
Use the W-S-A-D or arrow keys to walk around.
Use the mouse to look around.
Hold SHIFT while walking to run.
Press I to toggle info boxes on or off.
Press M to bring up the in-game menu and settings.
Press T while on board ship to enable black and white mode.
- Controls for keyboard and Gamepad can be custom-mapped. -

For Demo with HTC Vive:
(ONLY for the RIGHT Motion Controller):

Main Menu:
Face Button 1 (top) to begin demo
Face Button 4 (left) to skip to the ship
Face Button 2 (right) to quit
Main Game:
HOLD Face Button 1 (top) to select teleport spot
RELEASE or PRESS Face Button 1 to teleport to spot or teleport forward
Press the Shoulder Button or Escape key to quit
NOTE:
Hold down Face Button 1 to select the spot to teleport to. Release it to go to that spot.
Telporting can be tricky due to the current nature of the navigation setup. ALWAYS make sure the spot at the end of your teleport arc is encircled by the circle and arrow icon. If it is not, two things may happen:
1. You will not teleport anywhere.
2. The icon may be appearing in another location and you will find yourself teleported to another deck or room entirely, or even outside the ship.
Aim the controller carefully and choose your teleport locations carefully to ensure the best experience and least confusion.

If you experience poor performance try reducing the graphics settings via the in-game menus.
Please note that this is an extremely early-in-production demo and has not been properly optimized, so performance will not be great on older, lower-spec PCs.
As there is no built-in screenshot or video feature third party programs to capture screenshots and video in-game might be necessary.
If the demo fails to start, install the UE4 PreReqs as directed above if not done so already. If the demo still fails to start, the PC might not meet the minimum requirements for UE4 or the demo, or there may be other issues. In the case of the PreReqs there are prompts automatically to install them when trying to start the demo.

Please keep in mind that this is far from a finished product.

Completeness of Demo

Presented here is a very simple and rudimentary walkthrough of about 6% of the floor space of Titanic. The final product will give the ability to explore the entire ship: every cabin, corridor, and access passage. The harbor city of Southampton will be shown as it appeared in 1912. This demo has parts of the Belfast yard where the vessel was built. People will be walking the ship, and the voyage and sinking will be explorable with a fully interactive storyline, characters, and props.

Graphics and Performance
Over the production of the project the graphics will be improved, additional details added, and performance itself will be increased. Despite the intention of adding additional items for the game to process, such as props, people, and eventually water flow, the current models contained in this demo have not been combed for performance purposes and there is a good chance that any performance issues one might experience in this will be improved or fully fixed by the game's final release.
Accuracy
Many players of this demo will be combing it over looking for new features of the ship to learn about such as the layout of vents, furniture, and other details onboard. Working with the top Titanic historians in the field and a vast library of materials and resources it is guaranteed to present a high level of authenticity of the models produced, the facts included, and the eventual story and people aboard the ship. As this is still very early some of the details included in this demo are only temporary: in place, only to fill a void or gap to give the impression of a more complete ship. Please keep in mind that while there may minor inaccuracies in this model the team are already aware of them and will be worked out long before the completion of this project. Other mistakes are included on purpose by the team to prohibit the demo being used as a reference by any third-party Titanic project not affiliated with T:HG. These will be eliminated in the final game.

  1. Click the Download button to get our installer.
  2. Once the download is complete, Run the installer.
  3. Click the Install button when the Epic Games Launcher Setup dialog box appears.
  4. Sign into the Epic Launcher.
  5. Click the Unreal Engine tab inside the Epic Games Launcher Loading Screen.
  6. Click the Install Engine button to download and install the latest version of Unreal Engine.
